This months showcase bombers, is DeWayne Gross, 9w!

This months featured showcase is DeWayne Gross, who drives the 9w bomber, also lovingly known as 'Wenee'.

Just also found out DeWayne won the 2007 Brownstown Sportmans of the Year! Congrats to him!

A bit about DeWayne:

DeWayne grew up in Orleans, In. and now currently lives in Mitchell, Indiana with his wife Jodie and daughters, Ashley and Stephanie. He has a grandaughter, Emma Grace, who is his pride and joy!

Some of the rest of the family that he share were Mom, Vicki Gross, and brother, Curt and Brent.

He mainly raced at Brownstown and Bloomington(when they had the Bombers) and the mini enduro at Twin Cities, and at LawrenceBurg at Funfest in 2007.

He told us that watching a friend race is mainly what got him interested in the sport. He has now been in racing around 13 years. He looked up to and was inspired by Dale Earnhardt Sr..

In his spare time when not racing, DeWayne enjoys spending time with his wife, Jodie, and playing with 'Papaws Princess', Emma.

And some more info about DeWayne

When asked out of all the races he has been in, which he cherished most, he responded by saying it was his first bomber win at Brownstown.

He would like to race at Bloomington more, Haubstat, Salem Speedway, and quote "Just about anywhere they have a go fast, turn left track", DeWayne shared.

We asked DeWayne if there has been any moments in racing when you thought you would get out of it, he replied, "Yes. Generally after a tough year .it is a very tiring sport. But I have wonderful support."

The one piece of advice he would pass on to a rookie just getting in to racing is, respect the more experienced drivers and to learn all you can by reading, listening and watching.

DeWayne's plans next year are racing the Bomber and the mini enduro and trying to improve on the finishes in both.

Looking back on the year 2007, his biggest accomplishment was winning a Bomber feature at Brownstown.
