This months showcase driver for the 4 Cylinder Truck class is "Wild Bill" Harman and "WildWon Motorsports".

 

Contacted by part of Wild Bill's group, I was told "We race 4 cylinder trucks at Waynesfield Motorsports Park in Waynesfield Ohio, and at Limaland Motorsports Park In Lima , Ohio when they run us.

The picture left is of "Wild Bill" Harman and “Therapy”, their "hot rod".

In 2007, "Wild Bill" and "Therapy" was 3rd in points, with 2 feature wins, and MANY top 5’s.

This is the first opportunity that Dirt Scoops has had to interview a driver in this class, and we are pleased to do so! The interview also includes Randy Wagner and members of WildWon Motorsports...

1. How did you get in to racing?

"Wild Bill" has been racing since about 1991, and after being a fan for many years, and decided to get into stock cars at Limaland Motorsports Park. Several years later, he decided to move up to UMP modifieds, and raced them for about 3 years. WildWon Motorsports was established in late 2004, to realize a life long dream, of having our own race team.

2. Where are you from and where do you currently reside?

Bill is from Spencerville, Ohio (where we wrench the race truck). Randy lives in Lima, Ohio (where we operate out of).

3. Tell us about your family. (Ie married, kids, etc.)

Bill is engaged to his long time partner, Deb Laudick. Each of them have several children. Randy and his "Crew Chief", Ms. Lynn Hoovler, have been together for almost 5 years.Randy has a 22 y/o daughter, a 16 y/o son. Lynn has a 24 y/o daughter and a 13 year old daughter.

4. Tell us about the race team (who owns the car, etc).

In 2008, we'll be a fourth year team. Randy Wagner and Lynn Hoovler own the race truck.

5. Tell us your career high lights.

Feature Win at the first ever 4 cylinder truck event at Limaland Motorsports Park in August, 2006. 3rd place in season long points in 2007 at Waynesfield Motorsports park - Waynesfield, Ohio.

6. What tracks do you race at and where can fans go to see you race?

7. What tracks would you like to race at?

Lawrenceburg Speedway, 35 Raceway, Attica, Thunder Valley, Eldora, to name a few.


8. What advice would you pass on to a rookie driver?


1) be SAFE
2) HAVE FUN
3) Hold your line
4) Be patient
5) look as far ahead as possible.

9. Any events in 2008 or news to share about your plans in racing?

"Our trucks # is 9 cents, because......after paying the pit passes at our first ever event as a team, all we had left in our pockets = 9 cents. (True story... lol.... still is!)"
