A little about Robert in his own words: "I was born and raised in the small town of New Paris, Ohio. I have a fiancé her name is Lore. I have 3 children P.J., Krystal, Alicia and a granddaughter, Alexis." "I am still living in New Paris, Ohio. I have been working at Hills Pet Nutrition for 17 years." "I went to school at Montgomery county joint vocational school. I took auto body. And the fact that I like to go fast is what made me go into racing."
Racing Bio:
The 2006 season found Robert and his crew with a new 2006 Masterbuilt chassis, a custom hot rod late model body, topped off with Richmond Performance Center, 600 horse power dart headed 406 small block Chevy. While they started off to a slow start working out the bugs in a new car, the heat wins started coming along with the first feature win in Northern Ind. In August. "I would have to say that Union County is our home town race track" commented Robert, "Although we do like to go to Montpeliar Speedway and Lawrenceburg speedway." He also added, "We have raced in Kentucky at Florence Speedway, in Indiana at Brownstown, Gas City, Paragon, Kokomo, Bunker Hill. In, and also in Ohio at Eldora Speedway." "The only track we haven’t raced at and would like to, is Moler Speedway in Ohio and Bulls Gap in Tenn.", shared Robert. Robert's racing highlights would be 2 rookie of the year honors, and 2 track championships the following year.
Robert's favorite driver would be Dale Earnhardt Sr., because of the reputation of the old saying, “ I am going to the front”.
Who helped with Robert's racing success? "I would have to say that my crew (Lore,Jack,P.T) and my sponsors are who I credit for being able to race today", Robert answered. Robert also told Dirt Scoops, "The win and award that I cherish the most is that 1st feature win; the rush and excitement of getting the monkey off your back!" Advice Robert would like to pass on to all beginning drivers:
Roberts plans for the 2008 year is going to the front with his super stock.
Statement to the rookie drivers:
Roberts quote to all rookie drivers, "Before you finish first you first have to finish!"
Robert shares more personal information "In 2006, we here at RGR Motor sports, being a rookie in this class, feel we made leaps and bounds gathering several top tens, and several top 5's at many of the tracks we competed at. These tracks include: Union County Speedway, where we finished 3rd in points with rookie honors. We also finished 3rd in points at Montpelier Speedway, again with rookie honors. And also competing on a limited basis, we finished in the top 25 among 80 drivers at Lawrenceburg Speedway." "In the season finale of 2006 at Lawrenceburg Speedway, we competed against tri-states best drivers in a four day show. At the end of the fours days of hard racing, we found ourselves with a heat win and a starting spot in the A main. In a field of 20, starting on the tail, we finished 12th out of 77 cars. This was a great showing for team RGR and a big hats off to the crew !" "In 2007 with the first year and the bugs behind us we got off to a good start. We raced at several different tracks. With two track championships. We finished 1st in points at Union County Speedway and 1st in points at Montpelier Motor Speedway. We also finished 6th at Lawrenceburg speedway. We were recognized with the D.A.R.F street stock championship at Union County in an award."
Thanks and good luck from Dirt Scoops, Robert! |
